A North Carolina racetrack is now feeling major backlash after its owner advertised “Bubba Rope” for sale days after NASCAR said a noose had been found in the garage stall of Bubba Wallace, the stock car series’ only full-time black driver.
A concrete company and a driver series ended their partnerships this past Friday with the 311 Speedway in Stokes county, the Winston-Salem Journal reported.
The racetrack owner’s “Bubba Rope” post on Facebook Marketplace got called out by several social media users who blasted the owner in different posts.
“Buy your Bubba Rope today for only $9.99 each, they come with a lifetime warranty and work great,” the post said.
The Carolina Sprint Tour posted on its Facebook page that it wouldn’t be racing at the speedway for the remainder of its season.
“We do not condone nor support the comments and posts that have been made the past week,” the series said in a post online.
NASCAR officials released a photo Thursday of the rope found Sunday in Wallace’s garage stall that prompted a federal investigation, which in turn determined that it was actually there since 2019.

NASCAR noted that an internal investigation had found that of the 1,684 garage stalls at the circuit’s 29 tracks, only 11 had a pull rope tied in a knot. The only noose was the one in Wallace’s garage stall.
