Travis Hunter and Deion Sanders made history in December 2021 that will likely forever change college football.
Hunter, Rivals.com’s No. 1 player in the class of 2022, announced Wednesday that he has committed to play for Jackson State.
It was announced on Twitter, but confirmed by the man himself when he savagely tossed around some hats from top schools to show his commitment to Jackson State.
Hunter then unzipped his jacket to reveal a Jackson State T-shirt.
Hunter, a two-way player listed by Rivals as an athlete, was committed to Florida State since March of 2020.
Sanders has now pulled off arguably the biggest recruiting surprise in recent memory at his alma mater’s expense.

This isn’t the first time Sanders has lured players with Power Five offers to Jackson State. In 2020, he got De’Jahn Warren, a top junior college cornerback, to sign with Jackson State after previously committing to Georgia. They also got four-star tackle Javonte Gardner, four-star defensive tackle Katron Evans, four-star receiver Trevonte Rucker, three-star defensive tackle Braezhon Ross and three-star linebacker Baron Hopson in its 2021 recruiting class.
Keep this up and Jackson State may find themselves in a power conference in the future.
