Multiple college football programs have leaked an exciting feature that could show up in EA Sports’ upcoming ‘College Football 25’.
There were fears that the video game could be delayed given the lack of updates following the turn of the year. But fans can rest easy, as a trailer is now out there — which means lots of folks will be making use of their sick days for non-health-related reasons at some point in 2024.
By the looks of things, FCS schools could be included in the game as some of them have proclaimed involvement, despite prior reports claiming that the title would not feature teams from that division.
Gardner-Webb recently took to X to share a graphic indicating their athletes will appear in the game. The post didn’t offer any equivocation either as it was captioned “Gardner-Webb’s in the game.”
Interestingly enough, it’s since been deleted. But the internet doesn’t sleep – there are screenshots.

Portland State made a similar post on Instagram. That one is still up.
We can’t be sure what’s happening here, tbh. The Bulldogs and Vikings could be doing this to get some traction on social media, using the excitement prompted by the trailer’s release to bring some attention to themselves.
With FBS schools confirming their involvement, they might also be trolling by declaring their inclusion.
Should any of the above be what obtains, it would be pretty harsh to have fans expect them only to not show up.
It is worth noting that the last iteration of the game did not include any FCS teams, though it allowed gamers to play with or against “FCS Southeast” and other fictional colleges.
We’ll just have to wait and see.
