A College Football Playoff semifinal between two blue bloods turned into a classic.

No. 1 Michigan lead No. 4 Alabama 27-20 after Blake Corum scored from 17 yards out on the second play of overtime.

The Michigan defense would show up and stuff the Crimson Tide on their possession and win the Rose Bowl.

J.J. McCarthy threw for 221 yards and three touchdowns on the night.

His biggest moment was leading Michigan on an eight-play, 75-yard drive that included a fourth-and-two conversion that tied the game at 20-20 and sent it to overtime.

Michigan will play Washington or Texas in the national championship game next Monday.
