Michigan Wolverines fans went insane on Monday night.
Fire crews extinguished more than 21 small blazes in Ann Arbor on Monday night after the University of Michigan won the national football championship game.
The last time the team won a national football championship with an undefeated season was in 1997 so it was no shock to see how excited people would be in the area but some of them just took it too far.
The Ann Arbor Fire Department said its teams had to put out 17 “couch and debris” fires between South University Avenue and Hill Street near Washtenaw Avenue on Monday. If there is any solace, none of the fires included any buildings or vehicles, and no one was injured, officials said.
A poor couch was seen on fire. Others climbed posts and trees while cheering and chanting for their team. Ann Arbor police said no arrests were made in connection with post-game celebrations.
