Could Urban Meyer be returning to coaching?
It sure seems like it. Michigan State University is searching for a new head football coach and Meyer might be the man for the job.
After reports came out saying that he had ‘no interest’ in returning to coaching earlier this week, there has been a new twist.
Michigan State’s private jet was spotted in Sarasota, which is where Meyer currently resides in Florida.
“Okay, I’m inside Atlantic Aviation. I just completed a tour provided by the GM of the facility. He thinks I’m looking at having a potential meeting here.
Looks like there are 3 jets on the tarmac ready to go. There are some private meeting rooms that were being used. Not sure who was in there.

Greenjo2 said that he was “fairly confident” that he “just saw the AD.” He also saw a gray-haired man in a suit get on the jet with someone who looked like athletic director Alan Haller and claimed that he spoke with a security guard at the Sarasota airport’s executive terminal.
More information via Bro Bible:
“Michigan State flies a Leerjet, with the tail number: N280LJ. Flight logs show that the jet flew from East Lansing, to Sarasota, to Cincinnati.
Meyer will be in Columbus, Ohio this weekend for the Big Noon Kickoff. Perhaps he made a stop in Cincy?!
The conspiracy theories continued. Kerry Coombs, Meyer’s former defensive coordinator is in the Queen City. As is Meyer’s former strength and conditioning coach Niko Palazeti, who is also a Michigan State alumnus.”
A spot at the desk for FOX Sports’ pregame show on Saturday is where Meyer currently resides. That’s where he’ll likely be staying unless something drastically happens.
Nonetheless, that certainly won’t stop college football fans from going wild over these rumors…which is exactly what they did:
You can’t blame the different programs for asking and reaching out. Meyer, who is still under 60 years old, boasts 187 wins for an 85.4% winning percentage. He pairs that with a trio of national titles over his 17 seasons.
