The Michigan State Spartans are receiving a ton of criticism for curiously putting wide receiver Alante Brown back in Friday’s game against Central Michigan moments after he had to be carted off.
Brown was carted off after suffering an injury on the game’s opening kickoff. He was carted off by medical personnel, and at that point, it looked like Brown would be out for the remainder of the game as well.
But Brown wound up returning to the game later in the first half, and the Spartans cruised to a 31-7 victory. Though Brown avoided serious injury, the Spartans unsurprisingly took a lot of heat through social media for putting him back in the contest.

Brown took to X (formerly known as Twitter) after the game to let fans know that he was also fine.
The 5-foot-11 Brown spent the previous three years with the Nebraska Cornhuskers before joining the Spartans. The speedy Brown was a wide receiver and kick returner at Nebraska, recording 284 kick return yards and 262 receiving yards during his tenure there.
Brown and the Spartans will try to improve to 2-0 on the season when they host the Richmond Spiders next Saturday.
