Michigan president Santa Ono is reported to have trolled Big Ten Commissioner Toni Petitti ahead of Saturday night’s conference championship game.
The Wolverines are going head-to-head with the Iowa Hawkeyes and have drawn first blood with a field goal.
According to Josh Henschke of Maize & Blue Review, Ono spoke during the pregame tailgate and had a bit of a go at Petitti, who suspended Jim Harbaugh for three games. The ban stems from the investigation into the Wolverines’ alleged sign-stealing, but it did not prevent them from winning all three of the games Harbaugh missed.
It appears Ono reckons a Michigan win is a foregone conclusion as he’s said to have offered that it would be special to see Petitti hand the Big Ten Championship trophy to Harbaugh.
Can’t blame the guy for believing a win is imminent as the Hawkeyes have one of the worst offenses in the country. Still, they have one of the best defenses around, so who knows?
