Deshawn Troutman was arrested last month for domestic violence, according to a new report.
The University of Miami linebacker was arrested last month following one of the team’s spring practice sessions, per the Miami Herald. The 19-year-old Miami native has been charged with misdemeanor battery.
According to the arrest warrant obtained by the Herald, Troutman and his girlfriend were in an argument “over their impending separation.” The 6-foot-1, 208-pound athlete allegedly “became enraged and began to punch her with his fists throughout her body and head, causing pain.’’
The three-star recruit in the class of 2021 has been suspended from team activities.
Last season, he recorded five total tackles as a freshman.
