Houston fans will be particularly peeved this Friday night, but mayhaps none as Mattress Mack.
The popular furniture salesman, whose real name is Jim McIngvale, has lost quite a bag betting on the Cougars and found out via a quick check of his handheld device. Someone caught the moment on camera and you could see it right below:
McIngvale wagered a bit over $4 million on No.1 seed Houston to win the NCAA Tournament, with March Madness now heating up. However, he’s short the amount after an 89-75 Friday night defeat to Miami.
The loss was a long way coming as Mack put three bets on Houston shortly after winning $ 75 million on the Astros’ World Series win back in November.
The wagers were placed at DraftKings and FanDuel in Louisiana, as well as BetMGM in Mississippi, and totaled $2.55 million. He bet another mil on the Cougars at Caesars Sportsbook in Louisiana. Various other bets took the total to over $4 million.
Mack stood to win $35.4 million as he got different sets of odds, with some as high as 10/1. However, he’s going to have to try again next year.

With Texas also playing this Friday, McIngvale put a $100,000 parlay on both the Longhorns and Houston. Texas was still playing out the first half against Xavier at the time of writing but the Cougars’ loss killed the stacker early.
