Matthew McConaughey was not alright, alright, alright after the Longhorns lost to the Huskies in the Sugar Bowl on Monday night.
When Texas is in the limelight, Matthew McConaughey is usually along for the ride. When they lose, he is going through the motions. The Academy Award winner, who’s a diehard Longhorns fan, was prominently featured on ESPN’s multiple broadcasts as he took in the action from the sidelines in New Orleans.
Late in the fourth quarter of the Sugar Bowl, it appeared the Texas Longhorns were going to snatch victory from the jaws of defeat. It came down to one final play in the red zone, but a pass from Ewers was knocked away.
ESPN captured McConaughey’s reaction as he held his hands up and then put them down:
McConaughey went from hyping up players and cheering to looking defeated when the second-ranked Huskies celebrated a 37-31 victory over No. 3 Texas.
