This latest statistic should only add to the rapidly growing hype centering around Ohio State Buckeyes’ star wide receiver Marvin Harrison Jr.
Harrison Jr., the son of Indianapolis Colts legend and Pro Football Hall of Famer Marvin Harrison, was the fastest NCAA football carrier last week with a top speed of 22.2 MPH, according to Reel Analytics.
As noted by the NFL Rookie Watch X account, Harrison Jr. was faster than every single NFL ball carrier in Week 1. According to Next Gen Stats, Miami Dolphins’ wideout Tyreek Hill had the fastest recorded speed at 21.66 MPH.
Hill also had the second-fastest recorded speed in Week 1 at 21.52 MPH, per Next Gen Stats. Green Bay Packers’ running back Aaron Jones had the third-fastest time at 21.48 MPH.
Harrison Jr. is widely regarded as a top-three prospect in the 2024 NFL Draft class. Currently, USC Trojans’ quarterback Caleb Williams is the front-runner to go first overall, with Harrison a strong candidate to go at No. 2.
