Marvin Harrison Jr. has dropped a massive hint as it pertains to his football future.
The Ohio State wide receiver, who is tipped to be the first pass-catcher chosen in the 2024 NFL Draft should he choose to declare, did not practice with his Buckeyes teammates on Tuesday.
Harrison was spotted out of uniform on the sidelines during the day’s open practice. This is significant as Ohio State is scheduled to play in the Cotton Bowl Classic on Friday.
The WR gave no indication of participating on Tuesday, suggesting he is ready to move on to the pros.
Of course, this should not come as a surprise. Harrison loves being a Buckeye and claimed to have unfinished business after losing the Big Ten title to the Michigan Wolverines last month. Still, it hardly means he will prolong his wait to play in the NFL.
There’s also the financial incentive of going pro. Harrison is expected to sign a huge first contract given that he will enter the league as a first-round pick. It was rumored that the Buckeyes could offer him a deal that would compete with what he would make as an NFL rookie, but subsequent reports have poured cold water on that.
