Ohio State wide receiver Marvin Harrison Jr. hasn’t decided on whether he will return to the Buckeyes next season or pursue a career in the NFL. As of Thursday, the star wideout was still non-committal about playing in the Cotton Bowl.
Harrison still has unfinished business in college, it appears. Speaking to reporters ahead of the prestigious bowl game, the wideout claimed to have been intent on beating Michigan and winning a Big Ten title this year. He didn’t get to do so, and his failure might be enough to keep him in college for another year.
“Still undecided,” he said on Thursday (H/T Buckeyehuddle.com). “You guys know coming into this year, I wanted to beat the team up north and win a Big Ten championship and obviously I did not do that this year, so I think there’s great motive to come back if that’s what I decide to do.
“That’s something I definitely want to do in my Ohio State career and not having done that yet, it definitely opens the door for me to come back. But undecided, really just taking it day by day at this at this time.”
Harrison was named one of the four finalists for the Heisman Trophy after the season he just had with the Buckeyes and is expected to be the second-overall pick should he decide to enter the draft.
Jim Harbaugh might be keeping him around for the time being, having led the Wolverines to a conference title win on the weekend.
