Back in October 2018, 39-year-old Scott Vetere, an assistant coach for the University of Michigan gymnastic team, gotten himself arrested after police rolled up on his car and saw that he was nailing an 18-year-old member of the Michigan team.
The former gymnast who was the 2000 BIG 10 gymnast of the year was arraigned on a charge of committing an indecent or obscene act in public. He would resign from his position, but one month after his arrest, the University of Michigan gymnastics team banned him from coaching or working at the university again.
Fast forward to March 2019 and the former coach has now been punished, via TMZ Sports.
“The University of Michigan gymnastics coach who was arrested for having sex with one of his gymnasts in public was punished in court Monday with a fine … TMZ Sports has learned.
Court officials tell us Scott reached an agreement with prosecutors this week … and got his charge reduced to a civil infraction. He paid off a fine and now the case is closed.”
Scott is presumably still married to his wife, who he has three daughters with.
