The win for LSU over Alabama in Tuscaloosa on Saturday night gave the Tigers a lot of momentum on the recruiting trail. Some on the current team elected not to wait until after the season.
Following the 46-41 win over the Crimson Tide in Bryant-Denny Stadium on Satirday, a few of the players on LSU headed over to where Bama recruits were seated for the game and implored them to come to switch their commitment and come to the Tigers instead.
Orgeron referenced the star-studded group of recruits Alabama hosted, many of which are also top targets for the staff.
“I think it’s phenomenal. We had a lot of recruits at the game tonight. I texted them, they called me,” Orgeron said in his postgame press conference. “I think a lot of them were wearing their purple and gold socks tonight. I think there were a lot of guys that want to come be a part of our great football team. They want to get coached, they want to get developed. We have a couple spots left and we feel like we’ll get some great players in those spots.”
