First Lady Jill Biden caused quite the reaction when she suggested that runner-up Iowa should join NCAA women’s basketball champion LSU for a visit to the White House. Those comments did not sit well with Tigers star Angel Reese.
Louisiana State University star Angel Reese says that neither she, nor her team, would be visiting the White House after the Tigers defeated the University of Iowa Hawkeyes 102-85 to win their first NCAA women’s basketball national championship.
Reese said the Tigers should celebrate their title with former President Barack Obama and former first lady Michelle Obama rather than President Joe Biden and first lady Jill Biden. Despite the threat, it appears everything has worked itself out in the end.
A spokesperson for LSU said the women’s basketball team would be “excited” to celebrate their championship victory at the White House.
Reese has gone on record to state she wouldn’t accept an apology from Biden.
“That’s why she wants to come out and apologize,” Reese continued. “But at the same time, I don’t accept it, I’m not going to lie to you. I don’t accept the apology. You said what you said.”

Reese, who was named the women’s tournament Most Outstanding Player as a result of her standout performances, also said separately: “I just know if the roles were reversed, they wouldn’t be the same. If we were to lose, we would not be getting invited to the White House.”
Reese’s teammate Alex Morris took to Twitter to ask Michelle Obama whether her team could celebrate their win at their house, after Barack tweeted his congratulations to the team.
Many on Iowa, including Caitlin Clark, has already stated that the Tigers should be the only one at the White House.
