The Louisianna State University visit to the White House wasn’t all smooth sailing as one of the players ended up fainting during a speech from United States President Joe Biden.
The LSU Tigers headed to the White House this Friday, as is customary for national championship winners. And, while the POTUS was delivering a speech, freshman Sa’Myah Smith passed out, leaving Biden with a confused look before he figured out what was going on.
The President later assured everyone that the situation was under control.

Kim Mulkey, the team’s head coach, also insisted that Smith was okay.
“For those of you who are concerned, Sa’Myah is fine. I’ll assure you of that,” she said on the podium. “She’s kind of, right now, embarrassed. She doesn’t want to leave. She wants to stand with us, but she needs to be checked out.”

Biden continued his speech after the worrying incident and shared a moment with Angel Reese as he jokingly tried to organize a game. Reese was initially against visiting the White House after the First Lady, Jill Biden, suggested that the Iowa Hawkeyes should join the Tigers despite losing in the final.
The suggestion caused a huge stir, with Jill fielding widespread criticism. But Angel eventually opted to attend to show solidarity with her teammates.
Angel and Jill would also share a hug during the event.
