The LSU Tigers did not have a good showing in their first game of the season against the Mississippi State Bulldogs.
On top of losing, the LSU defense got gutted as quarterback K.J. Costello set a conference record for passing yards in a single game with 623. Costello’s 623 passing yards against the No. 6 Tigers was the 11th most in FBS history, and the most in a player’s debut. His 60 pass attempts is the most by a Bulldogs quarterback.
LSU had some fans in attendance, but was limited to 25 percent capacity.
Louisiana’s attorney general, Jeff Landry, seems to be blaming the loss on the fan attendance policy and appeared to direct his anger to the governor.
“Hey @LouisianaGov this is what happens when you don’t fill LSU stadium!” he tweeted.
Every program in the country is either going with significantly reduced crowds or none at all, so no excuses can be made.
