The former Auburn cheerleader was arrested and charged with conspiring to kill her husband in the Bahamas months after the couple filed for divorce had somehow been granted bail. Not only that, she would soon be freed by the most unlikeliest person.
Lindsay Shiver is accused of unsuccessfully conspiring with two Bahamas natives to kill her husband, Robert Shiver, on July 16 while on the Abaco Islands. Her bail was set at $100,000 and $20,000 for Terrance Bethel and Faron Newbold, which are her two suspected co-conspirators.
Former Auburn football player Robert Shiver helped bail out his estranged wife Lindsay Shiver and her alleged accomplices even though they are being charged with trying to murder him.
The Bahamas Court News reported that the prosecutors withdrew their objection to the release of Lindsay, her alleged lover, Terrance Bethel, and accused hitman Faron Newbold Jr. after speaking to Robert.
Lindsay must wear an ankle monitor and remain in the tourist destination, where she and her husband regularly vacation at their home with their children. Bethel and Newbold will also have to wear an ankle tracking device. The trio will have to sign in three times a week at the Marsh Harbour Police Station.
The trio was arrested last month after police uncovered the alleged scheme in WhatsApp messages on the phone of a suspected burglar at Grabbers Bar and Grill on Great Guana Cay. According to reports, Robert and Lindsay had what appeared to be a blissful marriage until a few months ago when she began an affair with Bethel. The couple, Thomasville socialites, met at Auburn University, where Robert played football.
Lindsay, who grew up in the Dothan area, was crowned Miss Houston County in 2005 and finished second runner-up in that year’s National Peanut Festival pageant.
