To say that Lioncol Riley was mad would be the understatement of the century. The Oklahoma Sooners coach looked as though his head was about to explode as he unleashed an epic tirade on officials following the Sooners’ loss to Baylor.
Riley was visibly upset after Baylor fans rushed the field with one second remaining in the Bears’ 24-14 victory over the Sooners. After instructing his team to head to the locker room (rather than stick around and play out the remaining second), the head coach made his way over to the officials to give them a piece of his mind.
Cameras caught the interaction, and let’s just say it was not a pleasant one.
You have to think that part of Riley’s frustration had to do with his team’s inability to get much going on the ground against the Bears, as they managed just 78 yards on 28 attempts for an abysmal average of 2.8 yards per attempt.
After all of that, the refs were able to get both teams back onto the field to play out the final second. Baylor would kick a field -goal, capping off a 27-14 victory.
And the Baylor fans were able to come back onto the field, this time for good.
