Is there a football coach out there who has more fun doing his job than Lane Kiffin?
The Ole Miss head coach is constantly making headlines for his playful jabs at opposing teams and coaches. And he continued the trend during a live interview on College GameDay earlier today.
While getting ready for his team’s home game against Texas A&M, Kiffin put on the headset and took part in an interview with the College GameDay crew — who were live to air from Tuscaloosa ahead of Alabama’s big SEC battle with LSU.
Kiffin was well aware that the Crimson Tide crowd was listening in on his interview with Kirk Herbstreit, Pat McAfee and the rest of the gang. So, when he was wrapping things up, he took a jab at the Bama fans by uttering, “Geaux Tigers.”
While both LSU and Alabama are conference rivals of Kiffin’s Ole Miss, the coach’s ties to the Crimson Tide run much deeper, as Lane was Nick Saban’s offensive coordinator from 2014 to 2016.
In most cases, you would expect Kiffin to side with his former team, but in this instance it’s understandable why he might be cheering for the Tigers. At 4-1 in SEC play, Ole Miss is tied with LSU, but both teams remain one game back of 5-0 Alabama for top spot in the SEC West. And with a loss to the Crimson Tide already, Kiffin and company will need some help if they want to book a spot in the SEC title game (and perhaps the College Football Playoff).

That first bit of help could come tonight, if LSU can pull off the upset in Tuscaloosa.
