Of course, if you’re a sports fan, you already know Kobe Bryant for his amazing basketball career. However, his nephew Jett Washington may be the next great athlete in the family, but with football.
Washington is currently a defensive back and wide receiver for high school football powerhouse Bishop Gorman, and in a game against St. Thomas Aquinas, he laid a hit stick on a receiver.
Many people on social media couldn’t believe the hit and that Washington was penalized for it.
“Clean football hit. Don’t throw high slants unless that receiver is built like DK Metcalf. Even then, his ribs can break too,” said one commenter said.
“This drawing penalty flags unfortunately means we’re gonna be watching flag football in the not too distant future,” said another about Washington’s hit.

“Clean hit. High school rules probably prohibit it, but scouts know that’s a clean hit, wrap up next time,” added a third.
Of course, it is high school football and the officiating is certainly much more conscious on keeping players safer compared to NFL and college football, but flag or no flag it was a great play.
Jett Washington Will Have His Pick Of College Football Programs
Washington’s skill and talent in football go way beyond just a great hit. He’s currently a junior, standing at 6’5″ and weighing 200 pounds, and listed as an athlete by 247 Sports.
He’s currently the 16th-best recruit, second-best athlete, and No. 1 player in Nevada. He holds offers from powerhouses like the University of Alabama and the University of Georgia.
By the time Washington enters his senior year and is ready to make a commitment he will be able to practically choose any school he wants.
