Kirk Herbstreit’s son, Chase Herbstreit, has announced his commitment to a Big Ten program.
The younger Herbstreit has been unveiled as a Michigan Wolverine, with the school disclosing as much via social media on Sunday evening.
Herbstreit, who was a quarterback for Michigan’s rivals, Ohio State, couldn’t be prouder of his son.
“So proud of you Chase,” the ESPN and Prime video analyst wrote in a tweet. “Congratulations on this incredible opportunity. Look forward to watching you continue to grow and develop at Michigan. Keep grinding!!”

Not only was his father a player for the Buckeyes, Chase’s grandfather, the late Jim Herbstreit, was also a captain at Ohio State in 1960.
Who knows? Maybe he was swayed by the Wolverines’ recent dominance of Ohio State, having beaten them in four consecutive years, even doing so this season as bad as they’ve been.
