The picks are in!
With the 2023 college football season kicking off today, everyone is scrambling to get their final predictions in. That includes the crew at College GameDay.
As part of their first show of the season, Kirk Herbstreit, Desmond Howards and Pat McAfee released their picks for this year’s college football playoff. All three had Alabama in the Championship game, but it was Kirk and Pat who had an all Big Ten vs. SEC final four.
Herbstreit specifically had Alabama beating Michigan in one semi-final, and Ohio State beating Georgia in the other. That would set up a final between the Crimson Tide and the Buckeyes, with the former coming away with the title.
McAfee had an identical final four, but he predicted Bama to beat Georgia (not Ohio State) in the championship game.
As for Desmond Howard, he predicted Bama beating Florida State in one semi-final, and Michigan beating Texas in the other, with his alma mater Michigan winning it all in the end.

Those who want to see the projected first overall pick of the 2024 NFL Draft will get their first look tonight when he and the Trojans take on San Jose State.
Here’s how fans are reacting to Herbstreit’s prediction:
