When Joshua Fleeks left Baylor after five seasons, he knew he wanted to spend his final year of college football in a family atmosphere.
He is now getting some tough love.
During Monday’s press conference, Nebraska football head coach Matt Rhule stated he sent the wide receiver home after reporting “significantly over his weight.”
A former three-star recruit, Fleeks joined the Cornhuskers in December shortly after they hired his former Bears head coach.
While Fleeks has gotten comfortable, it hasn’t been the easiest. After spending his high school years and five seasons of college in the same state, transferring brought a challenge that he is now facing with him dealing with at the current moment.
Fleeks has high expectations for the pass-catchers and offense as a whole, including plenty of explosive plays.

The Texas native scored one touchdown in each of his first three seasons and only racked up a combined 176 scrimmage yards on 15 touches in 2021 and 2022. He didn’t touch the ball once during Baylor’s final nine games last season.
Rhule didn’t specify his current weight but it must be truly out of control if he had to send him home.
