Officials have announced a Little League World Series coach is missing.
According to Kevin Fountain, Senior Director of Communications Little League International, Jose Perez a coach with the Bayamo, Cuba suddenly left late Saturday night and has not been seen since.
Jose Perez, a coach in the Cuban Little League for team Bayamo, left the International Grove without an explanation.
The Little League organisation’s communications senior director Kevin Fountain issued a statement regarding this matter.
“Jose Perez, a coach with Bayamo, Cuba, at the Little League Baseball World Series, left the Little League International Grove late last night, Saturday, August 19, and did not return. Little League International has communicated to all appropriate authorities and will ensure the Bayamo Little League team continues to have the best support and experience while in Williamsport.”
This is the first year that a team from Cuba has made it to the Little League World Series in Williamsport so his disappearance came a the worst time for the youngsters who are in the midst of making history.

The Cuban team was present with other coaches at the Little League Classic Major League Baseball game Sunday night. Bayamo lost the game against Panama. The 3-2 defeat resulted in the team’s elimination from the Little League World Series. That is a tough break for the kids who were likely worried about their coach in the midst of trying to compete on the field.
No other information was released by Little League officials Sunday night.
