Johnny Manziel has chimed in following fans calling for Reggie Bush to have his Heisman returned after being stripped.
Manziel’s new Netflix documentary, ‘Untold: Johnny Football’, has sparked outrage as the former Texas A&M quarterback admitted to violating NCAA policy by signing autographs to the tune of thousands of dollars while playing in college.
So one can well imagine how Bush is feeling right now after getting his Heisman taken away following a probe into his family receiving gifts.
Despite Manziel doing pretty much the same thing, he’s gotten to keep his trophy. And fans have been calling the NCAA out over their double standards, citing race and bias.
Manziel added his voice to the cries via Twitter on Friday evening, noting that “the only difference between my story and Reggie’s is that my ‘illegal activities’ did not start until after my Heisman season.”

This isn’t the first time Manziel has asked for Reggie to have his Heisman returned, having tweeted out as much in 2021, the same year the former running back contacted the Heisman Trust in an effort to get it back.
“Give Reggie Bush his Heisman back while we’re at it,” the former QB wrote in reference to the introduction of NIL.
It appears there’s no chance of that happening. There is another difference between the two situations as the NCAA doesn’t have concrete evidence of Manziel taking money in exchange for signing autographs.
While he admitted it in a documentary, he could always say he was lying for dramatic effect if push comes to shove.
