John Rhys is a man who can do multiple things on the same exact day.
The University of Central Florida’s John Rhys Plumlee accomplished something that we only previously saw with the likes of Deion Sanders.
On Friday, the outfielder for the UCF baseball team had a pair of hits, including a two-run triple, in the Knights’ 12-3 win over Memphis in the afternoon. He would then take his talents to the football team.
He jumped on a golf cart, changed uniforms, and was at FBC Mortgage Stadium for the Knights’ annual spring football game.
For the football game, he completed 10-of-17 passes for 230 yards and a pair of touchdowns, one of them coming on a 70-yard bomb.

He is so good that he is both a starting quarterback and starting right fielder for the Knights.
“That’s got to be a world record, right? Nobody’s ever done it, so it’s a world record. Someone write it down,” Plumlee joked, according to the Daytona Beach News-Journal. “Seven minutes has to be a good time.”
In baseball, he is hitting .313 with five homers and 10 stolen bases. Plumlee, who transferred to UCF from Ole Miss prior to last season, threw for 2,586 yards, 14 touchdowns, and 8 interceptions in 2022.
He will enter the year as UCF’s starter, but his contributions on the baseball diamond are just as important to the school.
UCF is preparing for its debut season as a member of the Big 12 conference.
