Okay, so we’re probably reaching a bit here… but another quarterback seems to be making a case to go No. 1 overall in the NFL Draft next year.
USC QB Caleb Williams is projected to go first overall in 2024, and that’s still likely to be what obtains. However, one Joe Milton has shown up in a video that shows him effortlessly tossing a football before pulling off a neat backflip.
Milton, who is now earning comparisons to Anthony Richardson after showing off some impressive arm strength over the weekend, has been in the news lately, having made an appearance on the NFL Network’s Good Morning Football.
On Saturday, the aforementioned video, which you can see right below, showed him casually throwing a ball well over 80 yards.
The Tennessee Volunteers quarterback has his work cut out for him as Hendon Hooker was snatched up by the Detroit Lions in the most recent draft. He will garner lots of attention and, should he go on to impress, could find himself among the players who have their names called early next year.
Of course, throwing an 85-yarder with no defense to bother him is hardly any indication of where a player could be drafted – plenty of non-football players could launch a ball as far. But it does give us an idea of how good this kid could be for the Volunteers in 2023.
