The 2023 college football season may be Jim Harbaugh’s last dance at Michigan.
With his long-term future at Michigan still uncertain, Harbaugh is expected to be a candidate of interest for NFL head coach openings.
According to Mike Jones of The Athletic, Harbaugh is expected to be considered during the upcoming NFL head coaching cycle. He cited a source who’s been briefed on discussions held by high-ranking NFL officials about potential coaching candidates.
That report says two teams are interested in him should he leave. Those teams are the Chicago Bears and Las Vegas Raiders.
If he’s gone, the Bears would be out of their minds not to at least explore Harbaugh who has shown he can create a distinctive style of team everywhere he’s been.
The Raiders fired head coach Josh McDaniels and if they decided not to roll with Antonio Pierce, then Harbaugh would be next up should they choose to pursue. Harbaugh has had discussions with the Raiders before on multiple occasions.
