The rivalry between Michigan and Ohio State is considered to be the biggest of its kind in college football. But it might surprise you to know that Wolverines head coach Jim Harbaugh is not a fan.
Harbaugh has spoken to reporters on the back of his team’s victory over the Buckeyes this past Saturday, insisting he doesn’t support the “manufactured” attention on what we’ve come to know as “The Game” as he does not believe it’s healthy for the students involved.
“I think that is very manufactured for the TV show people want to see. It’s not healthy for the student athletes.”
That said, Michigan has come out on top in the last three games against Ohio State and Saturday’s win secured an unblemished 12-0 record, though they did not have Harbaugh for six of them.
Harbaugh was not permitted on the sideline over the weekend as he was serving the last of his three-game suspension. And he’s set to earn $500,000 for the game, although he was watching from home.
