The President of the University of Michigan is standing by his coach, Jim Harbaugh, following the team’s victory over Penn State.
In the aftermath of his suspension, the university has been acting as if Harbaugh tragically lost his life. That was evident when an emotional Sherrone Moore dedicated the No. 3 Michigan Wolverines’ 24-15 road win over the No. 10 Penn State Nittany Lions on Saturday to suspended head coach Jim Harbaugh.
Moore cursed on live TV and broke down in tears as he thanked Harbaugh during a postgame interview.
The Big Ten announced Friday that Harbaugh would be suspended for Michigan’s final three games of the regular season amid an investigation into an alleged off-campus scouting and signal-stealing controversy.
On Sunday, Michigan president Santa Ono shared a new statement on recapping a chaotic week in Ann Arbor.
“Countless members of the University of Michigan family have reached out to me over the weekend and I wanted to express my appreciation. Like any community, we face our share of challenges and adversity. There have been many such moments in our history. But as our team showed so clearly yesterday, we will respond to any challenge head-on with a conviction to do better and to emerge even stronger. Go Blue!”

Here’s how social media reacted to the statement, as many pointed out that Jim Harbaugh is, in fact, still alive, and all of this is simply punishment for cheating — and not something completely undeserved, as they’re making it out to seem:
Again. Jim Harbaugh is insanely rich and fine. He is simply missing from the sidelines. Michigan is still 10-0, even with Harbaugh having to miss the next two games, and the two-time Big Ten champion coach is still able to be with his team and provide instruction during the week.
Michigan has filed a temporary restraining order to halt the punishment from the Big Ten. A hearing is scheduled for Friday.
Michigan is set to face Maryland on Saturday.
