Michigan head coach Jim Harbaugh has plenty of reason to celebrate after leading the Wolverines to a National Championship win.
Harbaugh is now a national champion on the back of a tumultuous season that saw him suspended twice, while an investigation still looms over his head. Winning is, of course, the sweetest vindication; and Michigan put in a dominant performance over the Washington Huskies to the tune of a 34-13 win on Monday night.
“We stood strong and tall because we knew we were innocent,” Harbaugh said after the victory. “And I’d like to point that out. And these guys are innocent. And overcome that, it wasn’t that hard because we knew we were innocent. So yeah, that’s really what I wanted to say. It went exactly how we wanted it to go. It went exactly how we wanted it to go.”
The head coach also delivered a touching message to his players in the locker room after the game.
“We are all known simply by national champions,” he said.
They were later seen celebrating while chanting, “It’s great to be a Michigan Wolverine.”

It’s been an incredible end to a rough season, though not on the field as the Wolverines went undefeated.
They will await the NCAA’s verdict. But, for the time being, they can celebrate and feel great about being Wolverines.
