The Michigan sign-stealing saga is the gift that keeps on giving.
In yet another twist to the story that has been dominating the college football headlines, Jim Harbaugh’s attorney has been caught blatantly plagiarizing a fan’s message board post in his 10-page letter to the Big Ten.
Said letter was made public this week and shows Harbaugh’s attorney making a case for him to be left alone amid the NCAA’s investigations. It has been rumored that the Wolverines HC will be suspended by the conference but his lawyer, Tom Mars, has made some good points as to why that should not be the case.
In one part of the letter, he points out that there is nothing in the conference rulebook that allows the Big Ten to bypass the NCAA. An internet detective has lined it up with a message board post on MgoBlog and they’re pretty much the same thing.
Check it out and decide for yourself:
The person who posted this might be happy to have their words used by a prestigious attorney in defense of the head coach. But this is still a bad look.

Who knows, though? Maybe Mars was the one who posted it originally.
In any case, it appears Harbaugh will be around for Saturday’s game against Penn State after reports suggested he would be suspended at some point this week.
