Jim Harbaugh has hinted that he expects to be back at Michigan next season amid speculation over a potential return to the NFL.
The Wolverines head coach was recently linked to the Los Angeles Chargers following ESPN’s Mike Greenberg revealing the details of a personal conversation in which Harbaugh is said to have waxed lyrical over Justin Herbert.
The Chargers will be in the market for a head coach in the offseason after firing Brandon Staley last week. So, of course, the speculation has intensified on the back of the latest development.
There’s also the matter of the disciplinary action hanging over Harbaugh and Michigan. The coach has already served a three-game suspension from the Big Ten over the sign-stealing scandal and could face more punishment from the NCAA.
Still, Harbaugh has indicated that he will be back next year as he’s reported to have told his seniors that he hopes to see some of them next year.
