Michigan Wolverines head coach Jim Harbaugh was handed a three-game suspension by the Big Ten on Friday for in-person scouting violations as well as alleged improper sign-stealing schemes.
Harbaugh will be suspended for Michigan’s final three regular season games. He’ll be banned from the sidelines for those three contests, though the 59-year-old is allowed to coach his players during the week.
Soon after news of the suspension broke, Ryan Parsons of Black Shoe Diaries posted a photo of Harbaugh at the State College Regional Airport in Centre County, Pennsylvania. Parsons said it appeared as though Harbaugh was holding “an emergency tarmac meeting.”
The Wolverines released a statement following the announcement of Harbaugh’s suspension, claiming that they were “dismayed” while accusing the commissioner of rushing to a decision.
The No. 3 ranked Wolverines will visit the Penn State Nittany Lions on Saturday. Their regular season will conclude against the Ohio State Buckeyes on Nov. 25.
