Jerry Jones has passed away.
No, not that one but the man who served alongside Denny Crum at the University of Louisville. Jones, a member of the UofL Athletics Hall of Fame, died this week at the age of 89.
Many fans were rather shocked to hear this news as some got confused and thought it was the Dallas Cowboys’ owner.

Jones’ oldest daughter, Sherry, said back in November that her father had entered hospice care so the family knew the end was near. At least he got to bring in one last year with them before he departed from the Earth.
During his final weeks, it was reported that former players and colleagues stopped by for visits.
Jones spent 24 years as a part of the men’s basketball staff at UofL. During his time as an assistant coach, the Cardinals reached the Final Four five times and won the NCAA national championship during the 1980 and 1986 seasons.
He was also an assistant to Crum when he coached the USA Pan American Games team in 1987.
As far as the owner Jerry Jones of the Dallas Cowboys, he is getting ready to watch the most important playoff run for his franchise in recent memory. Anything less than a trip to the NFC Championship game could bring on major changes.
