One of the top football prospects in the nation has announced his commitment to a Big 12 Conference club.
Jerrick Gibson, a four-time running back recruit, announced his commitment to Steve Sarkisian’s Texas Longhorns. You can see the video of Gibson making the life-changing announcement below:
Gibson attends the IMG Academy, a prep boarding school, in Bradenton, Florida. Active NFLers who also attended the IMG Academy include Tennessee Titans’ running back Derrick Henry, Philadelphia Eagles’ linebacker Nolan Smith, New York Giants’ offensive tackle Evan Neal, Cleveland Browns’ defensive backs Greg Newsome II and Grant Delpit and Minnesota Vikings wideout K.J. Osborn.
247Sports has Gibson rated at 93 overall. Andrew Ivins, the director of scouting there, compares Gibson to veteran NFL running back Sony Michel.
The Longhorns bid farewell to Bijan Robinson, the star running back who was taken eighth overall by the Atlanta Falcons in April’s draft. Robinson rushed for 1,580 yards and 18 touchdowns in his final year of college football.
