The Alabama Crimson Tide are making a huge change to the offense after they lost to the Texas Longhorns in Week Two.
The Alabama Crimson Tide has played three quarterbacks through the first two weeks, but only one while games were in doubt. Redshirt sophomore Jalen Milroe has led the Alabama offense against MTSU and Texas through the first two weeks, but that appears to be changing.
Tyler Buchner is expected to replace Jalen Milroe as Alabama’s starting quarterback for the Crimson Tide’s Week 3 game against South Florida.
Alabama’s loss to Texas in Week 2 seems to be the catalyst for the change.
Milroe passed for 255 yards and two touchdowns, but he only completed 51.9% of his throws and tossed two interception. His most costly turnover was one at Alabama’s 5-yard line near the start of the fourth quarter. The Longhorns scored a touchdown on their ensuing offensive play to open a two-score lead.
Buchner entered the transfer portal in April after two years at Notre Dame and committed to Alabama in the same month.
