Former Florida quarterback Jalen Kitna agreed to a plea deal last week that cleared him of child pornography charges but will charge him with two second-degree misdemeanors stemming from child pornography allegations. The two counts of disorderly conduct for breaching the peace each carry a maximum sentence of 60 days in jail and a $500 fine. As a result of the plea agreement, five felony child pornography charges were dropped.
This week, Kitna is now changing schools after he was dismissed from the Florida Gators football program last year following those charges. He is banned from stepping foot on the University of Florida’s physical campus, with the ban extending until 2025.
Kitna stated in a statement last week that he has learned from his mistakes and hopes to use what he’s learned to improve moving forward.
“The valuable lessons that I’ve learned through this whole deal have been very helpful,” Kitna said, via Saturday Down South. “I’m looking forward to applying those things and moving forward.”
Kitna is the son of former NFL quarterback Jon Kitna, who now serves as the coach of Lakota East High School in Cincinnati. Jalen appeared in four games as a redshirt freshman for the Gators in 2022, serving as the primary backup to Anthony Richardson.
For the season, he was 10-of-18 passing for 181 yards and one touchdown with no interceptions.
