During the 2018 offseason, Jalen Hurts’ father told Bleacher Report that if his son did not win the starting job with the Alabama Crimson Tide, he would be the ‘biggest free agent in college football history.’
Well, Hurts lost his job to the phenom that is Tua Tagovailoa, the team got demolished by the Clemson Tigers, and within days, Hurts was in search for his new program.
After being courted at a few places, it was announced this week that he would be taking his talents to the Oklahoma Sooners who had just lost Heisman Trophy winner Kyler Murray to the NFL.
According to reports, Hurts chose Oklahoma for the sole reason of having the chance of playing the Crimson Tide in the College Football Playoffs and knocking them out.
Hurts definitely has some big shoes to feel, but the size of the chip on his shoulder going into the 2019 season, he just might shock the world and dismantle his former school. Before losing his job, Hurts posted a 26-2 record with the Crimson Tide.
