Nick Saban may go down as the greatest head coach in NCAA football history when all is said and done, but his final play call in Monday’s Rose Bowl game against the Michigan Wolverines was certainly a head-scratcher.
A late Michigan touchdown reception from Roman Wilson helped Michigan tie the game and eventually force overtime. Running back Blake Corum scored on a 17-yard run in the opening possession of OT, forcing the Crimson Tide to match that on the ensuing drive.
On fourth and goal from the Michigan three, the Crimson Tide called for a Jalen Milroe QB draw that went absolutely nowhere:
