Shedeur Sanders is one of the most intriguing NFL Draft prospects in recent memory. The guy has the talent to compete with some of the best quarterbacks in college, but does he have what it takes to be an NFL guy?
Sanders just finished playing his 2024 season after a loss to BYU during the Alamo Valero Bowl. His stats weren’t perfect by any means; however, Sanders threw for over 200 yards and two touchdowns while completing 16 of 23 passes.
While many scouts and analysts see the young signal caller as a top-10 pick, that isn’t the case with all of them. Some doubt has been thrown at Shedeur about whether or not he is ready for the NFL following his senior season.
According to NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero, many scouts have not considered Sanders a first-round pick, much less a top-10 talent, and this could very much hurt Sanders’ draft stock heading into the 2025 NFL Draft.

Some Scouts Are Hurting Shedeur Sanders’ Draft Stock Heading Into The 2025 NFL Draft
“Shedeur Sanders, for a variety of reasons, is going to be a fascinating overall evaluation,” Pelissero said during his interview on the Rich Eisen Show. He added that he’s “already talked to people within the league who don’t have anything close to a first-round grade on the guy.”
Pelissero also mentioned that “The idea that he’s just going to walk in and going to be the No. 1 pick, that’s probably pushing it,” before referencing his Colorado teammate Travis Hunter, “I’d say Shedeur is not the first Colorado player off the board.”

While it’s still unclear whether or not scouts believe that Sanders will be taken off the board in the first round of the NFL Draft, that remains to be seen. As far as most fans are concerned, Sanders will be a great watch in most NFL uniforms.
