Day one of March Madness has been a fun one, with plenty of great action on the court. But it’s the cheerleaders who are giving us our best highlight from Thursday.
Early in the second half of East Regional first-round matchup between (5) Saint Mary’s and (12) Indiana, an errant shot resulted in the ball getting stuck in the backboard. The officials tried to get it down, but to no avail. The players didn’t seem interested in risking their safety by standing on a chair to get it. So in stepped the Indiana cheerleaders to save the day.
What a play by the Indiana cheerleader! Unfortunately, it wasn’t enough to inspire a comeback, as Saint Mary’s cruised to an 82-53 victory.
