The world is not only still in mourning over the sudden and tragic death of Kobe Bryant, but it’s been especially hard for the Los Angeles community to deal with his death, the death of his 13-year-old daughter just under a year after rapper Nipsey Hussle was gunned down in front of his store.
In a devastating interview with ESPN — hip hop legend and actor Ice Cube revealed that he was told of the news and that the first thing he did was text Kobe to see if he would text him back.
“And when I didn’t get it back, you don’t immediately start to worry because he’s Kobe and he always gets back sooner or later.”
“Me personally, I don’t have too many heroes that’s younger than me, and that was one of them,” he continued. “It’s profound but I think more about his family and I hope the city wraps their arms around the family and embrace them as much as they embraced Kobe.”
Kobe and Gianna were among nine people killed in the tragedy.
