Ian Rapoport was very critical of USC quarterback Caleb Williams on the back of the latter’s actions after the Trojans lost to the UCLA Bruins on Saturday.
The QB opted not to speak to reporters after the 38-20 result, drawing some flak from the NFL insider, who compared him to Joe Burrow.
“Joe Burrow learned his season was over on Friday, understood his responsibility, and went out and held a news conference,” Rapoport wrote on X. “The job of a QB and face of the franchise.”
Williams is set to follow the former LSU quarterback into the pros and is likely going to be the No. 1 overall pick. It appears he deals with the disappointment of a loss in a very different way as he was recently caught on camera sobbing in his mom’s arms after a defeat vs. the Washington Huskies earlier this month.
The 22-year-old is still several months away from the NFL. For now, he’s just a kid who takes losing very hard, which is admirable in itself.
