It is pretty safe to assume that Cowboys linebacker and reigning NFL Defensive Rookie of the Year Micah Parsons has never watched a hockey game before. Parsons was in his hometown state of Pennsylvania recently and was asked to do the ceremonial puck drop at the Hershey Bears game against the Syracuse Crunch.
Unfortunately for Micah, no one explained to him how this traditionally plays out, so he walked to center ice and just dropped the puck, before the players had even begun making their way to center ice. Immediately he realized something was not right, as he had the most puzzling and confused look on his face.
Typically during the puck drop, one member of each team comes to center ice, the puck is dropped, photos are taken and hands are shaken.
Bears defenceman Dylan McIlrath skated over and handed Parsons the puck back for a second attempt, and this time he got it right. Lots of people were poking fun at Micah’s expense, including his former teammate at Penn State, Giants Running Back Saquon Barkley.
