Fans have come up with an unusual punishment for Jim Harbaugh that the NCAA should at least consider.
The Michigan Wolverines head coach is under some serious scrutiny on the back of sign-stealing allegations which are being investigated by college football’s governing body. The saga has seen a few twists along the way as someone is now claiming to have been contracted to scout Michigan’s signals by a number of other schools.
Harbaugh remains the one on the hot seat, though. Connor Stalions, a former analyst for the Wolverines, has resigned after being suspended. And the HC is expected to attract a suspension himself, having already served a three-game ban to start the current season.
The 59-year-old denies any knowledge of illegal scouting yet, should investigations prove culpability, he will be sitting out several more games. The Big Ten can also impose their own ban.
Some fans have suggested a punishment that doesn’t include bans or docked wins. According to their terms, Harbaugh keeps his job but his offensive and defensive coordinators leave for other programs.
Here’s the kicker, they’re replaced by Brian Ferentz and Alex Grinch.

Ferentz is the OC at Iowa who has disclosed that he plans to leave the Hawkeyes at the end of the season. The program has displayed one of the most embarrassing offenses in the nation for the past few years.
Meanwhile, Grinch was fired after USC allowed Washington to score 52 points on Saturday. The Trojans have permitted opponents to score 40 or more points in five of their last six games and at least 28 points in eight games.
Fans reckon the combination of two of the worst coordinators in college football would be punishment enough.
