Unfortunate news out of Oklahoma after a shooting at a high school football game injures multiple people.
Police say the shooting took place at a high school in Choctaw, Oklahoma, where four people were shot during the late football game. Video from the high school shows players and fans running from the field and stands after shots were fired by the unknown assailant or assailants.
In the video, numerous people are down on the field, though it should be noted that they were not injured but taking cover as numerous people did in the stands, and announcers in the video were told to get down.
Though details haven’t been released, of the four shot, one was a student, and an off-duty Del-City police officer did return fire. One victim was treated for a wound to the leg but later released. The remaining three are not immediately known.
Choctaw Police Chief Kelly Marshall says that officers on the scene received a description of the suspect who has fled the scene, but as of this writing, there is no suspect or person of interest in custody.
With no clear motive or objective, this is a hard case to determine currently, but the scene from last night’s game is still fresh in the minds of Choctaw residents and players. More will come as details emerge from last night’s unnecessary tragedy.
